Name: Dan Toomey
Dan has been doing community outreach at Umass Lowell for the last ten years and has been the producer of "Thinking Out Loud" on WUML-FM for nine of thoese years. Thinking Out Loud is a daily 2-hour public affairs radio show on the university's radio station. Thinking Out Loud has one hour segments in five languages; English, Spanish, Khmer, Portuguese(Brazilian) and Laotian. The show has 25 volunteers.
Dan hopes to bring his community outreach skills to LTC to reactivate some of our inactive producers and members.
Dan recently organized and hosted the 12th annual Grassroots Radio Conference, a three day national events that was held this past June for the first time in Lowell. Dan was awarded his Masters Degree from Umass Lowell and his Bachelors Degree from New Hampshire College.
