Technology
The LTC website was developed using Drupal 4.6, enhanced with a number of contributed modules, as well as some custom development to meet our internal needs and provide features to our membership and the Lowell community.
In an effort to provide our peers with information on using Drupal within their own organizations, this space is devoted to outlining the Drupal modules and enhancements that power LTC.org.
Modules
Modules are plug-ins that allow you to customize your site. LTC.org is using the following modules. Note that some modules have been customized to better meet our needs.
- Event : Adds an event calendar to the site.
- Flexiblock : Provides functionality to the home page menus.
- Flexinode : Allows the creation of nodes using the event modules.
- Front Page : Provides the flexibility to customize the home page.
- Print Friendly Pages : Adds a link to nodes to view print-friendly web pages.
- Taxonomy Context : Provides breadcrumb navigation based on taxonomy terms.
- Webform : Create forms to gather user feedback.
Theme
The site uses a custom theme, built on top of the PHPTemplate engine and the FriendsElectric theme.
Custom Development
Facil integration - Our programming schedule is tied into our Facil database, for an easily maintainable online program guide.
